Tony Almeida is alive!

Apparently, Season 7 will start off with Jack discovering that Tony is alive. There’s no word on how important Tony will be to the season’s plot, but we can only hope that he is heavily involved.
Will this be the necessary kick start to the series to erase the terrible sixth season from your memory? Has 24 jumped the shark with this development? Did it jump the shark ages ago?

As much as I love the character of Tony Almeida, I'm afraid they wouldn't bring him back as the Almeida we all know & love. And I wouldn't want them to kill him off - I don't know if I could handle that. Right now, I'm just willing to have T&M happy together in the witness protection program.
